I've been listening to a lot of Christian music lately. It's a good way for me to hear truth and for it to get stuck in my head; engrained in my heart. I've been listening only to Christian radio when I'm in the car and mostly Christian Pandora stations at the gym, though I will admit that I toss in some Disney every now and again. Anyway, I've been hearing a pretty awesome song called "He Knows My Name" by Francesca Battistelli quite a bit lately and I just have to share.

Spent today in a conversation
In the mirror face to face with
Somebody less than perfect
I wouldn't choose me first if
I was looking for a champion
In fact I'd understand if
You picked everyone before me
But that's just not my story
True to who You are
You saw my heart
And made
Something out of nothing

I really can't say it enough. It does not matter in the slightest that we're not perfect. God already knows that. We're not supposed to be perfect. And it doesn't matter if we're chosen last every single time. God doesn't care about any of that. He sees and knows our hearts, and that's what's important; that's what matters. He made something out of nothing with my heart, and I'm guessing that I'm not the only one who can relate to that.
I don't need my name in lights
I'm famous in my Father's eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I'm not living for applause
I'm already so adored
It's all His stage
He knows my name
He knows my name
This is not the easiest thing for me. I know I've said before that sometimes I like recognition. It's nice to feel appreciated. But the fact of the matter is, I shouldn't need that. It doesn't matter if my name is in lights, or if people acknowledge my accomplishments. I am already famous in the eyes that see through me to the core of who I am. I'm famous in the eyes of the King.

I'm not meant to just stay quiet
I'm meant to be a lion
I'll roar beyond a song
With every moment that I've got
True to who You are
You saw my heart
And made
Something out of nothing
I find this verse quite empowering. We are not made to stay quiet; we're meant to ROAR! I don't necessarily mean that we have to out screaming the Gospel from rooftops. Our actions can roar just as much as our words can. We don't have to be shy and timid; we can be bold in Him.
I don't need my name in lights
I'm famous in my Father's eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I'm not living for applause
I'm already so adored
It's all His stage
He knows my name
He knows my name
The line in this song that has stuck out to me the most since the first time I heard it is here in the chorus. "I'm not living for applause; I'm already so adored." Whoa. Again, I don't need the earthy recognition. Earthly applause should not be my goal. And the kicker...I'm already so adored. Nothing on this earth will ever compare to that. I really love the word adored. It is such a strong and powerful word. I almost think I like it better than the word "loved." Maybe because it's not as used. I'm not sure. But think about being wholly and completely adored by the One True King.
He calls me chosen, free forgiven
Wanted, child of the King
His forever, held in treasure
I am loved
This bridge is just awesome! These words speak such truth We are all these things! Let them sink in... Chosen. Free andforgiven. Wanted. Children of the King. We are His forever. Held in treasure. Loved. Know these things. Believe these things. Trust in these things. You are loved!
I don't need my name in lights...
I'm famous in my Father's eyes...
I don't need my name in lights
I'm famous in my Father's eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I'm not living for applause
I'm already so adored
It's all His stage
He knows my name
He knows my name
I mean really, what's not to love about this song? Blessings to all!
