postheadericon Twelve Days of Christmas - Day 6

"...Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you;
he is the Messiah, the Lord.
This will be a sign to you:
You will find a baby wrapped in cloths
and lying in a manger.'"
- Luke 2:11-12

Ah yes, we have gotten to some of my favorite words. Another version of the Bible says, "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord." It makes me want to go watch A Charlie Brown Christmas.

A Savior, which is Christ the Lord. Jesus was born into this world to be our Savior. Do you get the weight of that? A Savior was born. He was wrapped in swaddling cloths and laid in a manger. Humble beginnings.

The last song that the kids sang at church last night was "Silent Night." They were up in the front of the sanctuary, just singing away. The huge Christmas tree with sparkling white lights was behind them, and it was so full of beauty. True beauty. I wish you all could have been there to experience it, too!

Silent night, Holy night
Shepherds quake, at the sight
Glories stream from heaven above
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia
Christ the Savior is born
Christ the Savior is born
